Ballydemo sits where the river meets the sea, a village of six hundred people on the west coast, sheltered by low hills and a harbour wall built in 1847. The main street runs from the church down to the pier, past a handful of shops, three pubs and the old creamery, now a community hall.
People come for the walking, the birdlife on the estuary, and the quiet. They stay because it's hard to be in a hurry here.
