Welcome to

Foley's

Ballydemo, Co. Antrim

The old one, with the music

The oldest pub in the village and the one on all the postcards — red front, gold lettering, low door. Inside it's small, dark and largely unchanged since the 1950s: a short bar, a snug that seats six, and a back room they open when there's a crowd.

Traditional music on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons, unamplified and unadvertised, with whoever turns up. Toasted sandwiches are available and nothing else. No television.

Open: Daily from 4pm, from 12:30pm Saturday and Sunday.
Good to know: Step up at the front door and the back room is down two steps. No card machine — cash or the honour system.
