Nan's Kitchen

Ballydemo, Co. Antrim

Soup, sandwiches and the parish news

A café on Main Street, open since 2009, named after the owner's grandmother rather than anyone who ever worked there.

Soup and brown bread, toasted sandwiches, a hot dish at lunchtime, and the best scones in the parish — a claim the village broadly accepts. Six tables inside and three on the footpath when the weather allows. It's where the walking groups end up, where the market traders get their coffee, and where most local business gets discussed.
