The creamery closed in 1983 and stood empty for the better part of thirty years. It reopened as a restaurant in 2016 and is now the reason a fair number of people drive out from the city on a Saturday.
The room is high-ceilinged and plain — whitewashed walls, the original iron beams, twelve tables. The menu is short and changes every few weeks depending on what's landed at the pier and what's ready at the market garden in Ardnahinch. Expect four or five mains, always one fish, always something for vegetarians, and a dessert list that rarely runs to more than three things.
Booking is essential at weekends and advisable the rest of the time.
Open: Thursday to Sunday, 6pm–9:30pm. Sunday lunch 12:30–3pm.

Good to know: Step-free entrance from the yard. No children's menu, but they'll do smaller portions. One long table seats ten for groups.
